H. MeltH. Melt is a poet and artist who was born in Chicago. Their work proudly documents Chicago’s queer and trans communities.Their writing has been published many places including The Feminist Wire, In These Times, Lambda Literary, Newcity, The Offing, and Them, the first trans literary journal in the United States. It also appears in the anthology Writing the Walls Down. Their art has been exhibited by the nationally touring show Strange Bedfellows, Temporary Allegiance, and Woman Made Gallery.
H. Melt is also a teaching artist who has organized workshops for the arts collective 3rd Language, Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, and Young Chicago Authors. They work at the Poetry Foundation and Chicago's feminist bookstore. H. Melt is the author of the chapbook SIRvival in the Second City, editor of the zine Second to None: Queer and Trans Chicago Voices, and released their first full-length book The Plural, The Blurring in the fall of 2015 with Red Beard Press. |
