Violet Seeburger, Photographer & Poet for Untitled

  • Question: Could we start off by having you tell me a bit about yourself and your piece?
"I am a freshman in high school and as of right now I am hoping to make art for a living. "
  • Question: Why did you write your poem to accompany the photograph you sent us?
"I wrote the poem to accompany the photo to caption it and it ended up turning unto something bigger than a caption. They just seemed to fit. The photo adds more visual to the poem."
  • Question: Your poem is pretty broad, can you tell me some more specific details which went into the thought behind the poem?
"My piece is a poem about my mind. I have a fear of falling up and the poem was illustrating what would happen if I let go of everything and floated away. Floating away in this poem does not mean literally floating up but getting lost in the mind; disconnecting from the world and going inward. Its about connecting with myself and finding who I am."

To learn more about Violet and her photography/writing, join us at the release of The First Edition of Pufferfish Magazine, in which she is featured, Saturday, April 30th at 310 E. Washington St. (see Facebook event for more details)
