Authors, fans, family, and friends of authors: "shondrea and i talked about how language is your power. some days, admittedly, i zone out. in my town, bahasa malayu gushes in fast rivers out the mouths of every neighbor, 7-11 cashier, fruit stall owner, teacher, friend. around me, language lives -- takes a breath, picks its nose. and when i fall out of the language train and do not understand, i feel like i get squeezed to tight quarters, constricted and lonely and sad. but i have to believe that i'm being made better for it: stronger, sturdier, questioning so much about my own history of being raised in a bilingual world, while putting in the work/wait to learn this new language." -Excerpt from the blog of former Red Beard Supervisor and Co-author of Electric Bite Woman, Carlina Duan (see more) Four whole new interviews are now available for viewing as we head into the home stretch before tomorrows reading!
